Types of Wood

Customers normally base their choice on cost and look of the finished product. Noble Carpentry and Joinery will help you to make an informed decision.
Listed below are some commonly used types of timber:

MDF (Medium density fiberboard)

MDF is a manufactured product composed of wood fibers mixed with resin and wax, and pressed into flat panels under high temperatures and pressure. It is cheaper than most other timbers and is an excellent building material

White Oak

USED FOR: Furniture, cabinet making, joinery, heavy construction, parquet and strip flooring, boat building, plywood and ornamental veneers / Sliced veneers for decorative veneering

Scandinavian Redwood

USED FOR: General joinery work, Construction work, Furniture, Carcassing and House building.

Beech

USED FOR: Cabinet making, high-class joinery, desks and workbenches, domestic flooring, construction and utility plywood | Sliced veneers for decorative veneering.

Wooden Cabinets

If cost is not an issue then furniture made from ... wood will always be appreciated the most.

Take a solidly built bookshelf. The cheapest option would be to use pained MDF, followed by MDF with a veneer finish. The use of solid wood would be the costliest.
